The 28 Billion Dollar Reason Heart Health Matters in Women Post-menopause

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of death among women, yet it is often misdiagnosed and/or undertreated in this population. About 80% of women ages 40 to 60 have one or more risk factors for CVD, including hormonal shifts that occur during menopause. During this time, weight distribution shifts, metabolism slows down, and stress levels tend to increase. Despite these significant health implications, menopause and its effects on women's health are often not discussed openly, contributing to the broader challenges within the healthcare system where specific cardiovascular risks faced by aging women are understudied and may be minimized or misunderstood

Join Omada Health’s Chief Medical Officer Carolyn Jasik, MD, and Midi Health’s Chief Executive Officer Joanna Strober for a conversation that breaks the silence on why heart health in women, particularly as they navigate through menopause, warrants more attention, discussion, and tailored healthcare approaches.

Specifically, they will cover the following:

  • Why heart health becomes increasingly critical for women as they age

  • How metabolic changes during menopause elevate cardiovascular risk among women

  • How informed, empathetic, and personalized healthcare solutions can effectively address the distinctive challenges and risks prevalent among women
